A lot of people write Twitter off because of all the “noise” and “fluff” that is generated; but the simple fact is that even with all the spam that does exist, there’s a lot of talking, a lot of informing and a lot of conversing.
With that in mind, even if people don’t actually use Twitter to converse themselves, it can be a valuable resource for market research – finding out right here, and right now, what is being talked about and is popular…. And now you can drill down into location-specific levels with trending, it’s all the more powerful if you’re wanting or needing to go after a specific geographical market.
